JaeWon Kim is Dean and Professor of Law at Dong-A
University College of Law, where he teaches Law & Society,
Comparative American Law and Jurisprudence. He has served in his university as Associate
Dean, Director of Law Library, Director of the Institute for Legal Studies, and Faculty Hiring Committee Member. Dean Kim holds
law degrees from both Korea and the U.S.: an LL.B. from Soongsil University
College of Law in Seoul, Korea; a J.D. and LL.M. from the American University
Washington College of Law, where he was a Dean¡¯s Fellow, and a J.S.D. from Cornell Law School, where he was a Clarke Fellow. Dean Kim was Visiting
Researcher at Harvard Law School during 1991-92, Visiting Scholar at Cornell Law School during
2003-04, and Visiting Scholar at Emory University School of Law in January 2005. While
actively participating in major NGOs and law reform activities in Korea, he has
served as Legal Education Sub-Committee Member of the Presidential Commission
on Education Reform. Based on his law reform activities, he contributed a
chapter in Raising the Bar, edited by
William Alford (Harvard University Press 2005). As a regular
contributor to Korean Journal of Law
& Society, Dean Kim had served as an editor of the Journal, and currently
serves as President of the Korean Association of Law and Society. |
